Lost South Australian Homing Pigeon Association Birds
Membership for 2015 full. Names being taken for waiting list for 2016.
Current members have until the 31st July each year to lodge a deposit to be guaranteed a place for the following year. Our procedure with those on the waiting list is to notify them in early July that if they want to join they must lodge a registration form and deposit before the end of July. On 1st August we determine the number of spots available and allocate (in order) places to those on our waiting list who have lodged a deposit until all places are taken. Anyone not on the waiting list who lodges a registration form and deposit “out of the blue” are third in line behind current members and those on the waiting list who have lodged a deposit..
Race for a total prize pool of $110,000.00 over 5 races, subject to full club membership. First prize in each race $10,000. The top 30 places per race receive prize money. The races are held on the north line from distances ranging from approximately 300 kms to either 720 kms or 947 kms depending on the SAHPA program. Birds are released with the SAHPA birds and are well split up ensuring a clear winner.
Members are welcome at the loft on race days where a barbecue lunch is provided.
Membership costs are $1,400.00 per 4 bird syndicate entitling each bird to 5 races.
We have winners Australia wide including Mt Isa, Toowoomba, Broken Hill, Wollongong, Wagga Wagga, Sydney, Busselton, Albany, Perth, Stawell, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Birds for the 2015 season are to be entered into the loft between the 28th November and the 7th December with the final payment. The loft manager will pick up interstate birds for the 2015 season from the airport on the last Friday in November and the first Friday in December.
Also arrangements can be made to have birds picked up from transport depots.
Pairing up of stock birds must take place in the 1st week of October to make sure that the squeakers are between 30&35 days old when entered.
