HAWKER 2010 NEWSLETTER
The birds entered in the second race from Hawker were released at 8.20 am, along with 5250 SAHPA birds. A light south-to-south west wind (headwind) guaranteed a good steady race. The winning velocity was 1097.48mpm.
Oakbank Stud 3 (Phil & Carol Thalbourne) won the race with Just For Fun second and Muirhead & Fuller third. Phil & Carol have been members of the club for all 9 years, come out to every race and it was great to see them finally get that elusive winner. Andrew Muirhead & Faye Fuller had another very good race finishing 3rd, 4th and 25th and receive an additional prize of $200.00 for 3 birds in the top 30. Congratulations to the winners and all of the other prize winners.
The third race is from Marree (approx 562 kms) on 10th July.
Registrations and deposits for the 2011 season are being taken. The entry fee is $1,100 with the deposit being $300. A registration form is attached for your use; please forward the completed form and deposit to the Treasurer.
